Programme Overview

The training focuses on the more advanced features within Excel, in particular, functions and formatting of worksheets; and using multiple worksheets. We will assume that you already have a basic, working knowledge of Excel (see Excel Foundation course).

Gain a greater understanding of the working of Microsoft Excel, including how to work between multiple worksheets and workbooks. Learn how to import Excel information into other Microsoft Office applications.

Skills Taught

This training is ‘hands on’ and covers the following:
  • the interface, tabs and ribbons
  • absolute and relative cell referencing
  • inserting objects  – tables, pivot charts and sparklines
  • the ‘if’ functions, including ‘sumif’ and ‘countif’
  • worksheet consolidation
  • lookup function and its implementation
  • formulas
  • the ‘developer tab’
  • managing data
  • conditional formatting.

People already familiar with the basic features of Microsoft Excel and who want to develop their skills and expertise.

What to Expect

This workshop is delivered over two sessions to small groups, not exceeding five, with each person having their own computer to work with and a manual to support the learning. This training can be tailored to meet organisational needs.
